A LITTLE MORE

About us

Gastown East is a Tasmanian restaurant offering Canadian influenced drinks, brunch and a dinner menu ideal for sharing.

The similarities in Canadian and Australian cuisine are widely apparent once you delve into the multiculturalism and broadly differing regional cuisines due to the vast size of both countries.

The menu at Gastown East draws on the inspiration of the characteristic seafood of the Pacific Northwest, the delicate French inspired pastries of Quebec in the east, and hearty, warming feasts of rural Ontario in the wintertime.

The name is a nod to downtown Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood, Gastown, where Victorian buildings are met by cobblestone streets, an area now well- known for its chic cocktail lounges and thriving restaurant scene.
